Paper Plane Ivention

                            Paper Planes
On the 8/23/2013 we made paper planes in class, after we went to the tennis court and we threw our planes but did not while I was testing mine out so the wind blow mine on the roof.

After we saw what plane was the best. Libby won once.  Seth won twice so Seth's plane was the best plane in room 2. I think mine would of won if it did not land on the roof...

Orangutan monkey!!!

The monkey  I'm about to show you is an orangutan. They are big fat orange monkeys.

Orangutan are found in tropical rain forests on the islands of Sumatra. Currently the population is about 30,000.
They eat fruit, leaves, flowers, buds, bark and insects. They live about 40-50 years in the wild and 50-60 years in captivity.
They build nests each night out of leaves and branches at the very top of the tree. The female is not ready for a baby until she is in her teens.
The babies get nursed until they are six.
orangutans in tree
Orangutans are large apes that live in southeast Asia (on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra). These apes mostly live in trees (they are arboreal) and swing from branch to branch using their arms.
The word orangutan means "man of the forest" in the Malay language. As its habitats are being usurped by man, the orangutan's population is decreasing and it is in grave danger of extinction
have a large, bulky body, a thick neck, very long, strong arms, short, bowed legs, and no tail. Orangutans are about 2/3 the size of the gorilla. Orangutan's population is decreasing and it is in grave danger of extinction
The orangutan has a large head with a large mouth area. Adult males have big cheek flaps (which get larger as the ape ages).
They are mostly covered with long reddish-brown hair.Orangutans have senses very similar to ours, including hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch.Orangutan hands are very much like ours; they have four long fingers plus an opposable thumb. Their feet have four long toes plus an opposable big toe. Orangutans can grasp things with both their hands and their feet. The largest males have an arm span of about 7.5 feet (2.3 m).

Water Painting With Andrea:By Javan

Last week Room2 did water painting with Andrea.
We went out to the back of the library and we painted a lot of the country side.
We all did wonderful water paintings.  We also did a draft of the mixture of colours that would go good together.  My favorite mixture that I did was the yellow and green.  We also had to do different shades of colours like dark blue and then dip the tip of the brush into the water to make the dark blue lighter. Some of the children got to do two drafts in our spare time.

The Worlds Biggest Rubber Band Ball:Made By Joel Waul.

The worlds  Biggest Rubber Band ball weights 4,097kg (9,032 Ib) was made by Joel Waul who lives in USA. It used 700,000 rubber bands to  make a rubber band ball bigger than you and taller than you of course.
Colour's used are red, blue, yellow, green, and purple.
As you can see the man who is standing on the rubber band ball is Joel Waul, now he is the man who made this huge rubber band ball, maybe he is in the world record book of 2004 or maybe even in the history of the worlds biggest rubber band ball who knows.

It took 2 years for Joel Waul to make this massive rubber ball.

So stay tuned to the studio two blogger dash board for more fascinating facts!

Flying Squirrels

Flying squirrels live in North America, They live in tall trees.Flying squirrels eat nuts, just like normal squirrels do.Let me tell you how flying squirrels fly, when there is a strong wind the squirrel will jump off a tall tree and stretch their skin and float in the air. They move their body and that's how they turn while flying.
